Kwikset PIN Notifications

I’ve programmed Vera 2 to notify me (SMS) when a bad PIN code is entered or when the door lock button is pushed. Both notifications work fine, but I cannot get Vera to send me an SMS when a correct PIN code is entered.

Has anyone else been able to get this feature to work?

Mine works fine, what do you have in the box when it asks you for what pin to notify you?

In the box that asks which PIN, I have typed the eight digit PIN code.

If it’s the first PIN listed, enter 1. If it’s the 4th PIN listed, enter 4. I don’t like how that works, since nothing tells you which PIN is which, and if you delete one, what happens to the numbering? ???

I didn’t see that written anywhere!. Thanks for the information. I assume it’s done like that to keep the PIN codes hidden. I hope this helps others.

I thought the [tt]Keep a copy of my PIN codes so that I can view them later[/tt] check box on the lock’s [tt]Control[/tt] tab let’s you save the actual codes. Assuming you program them through Vera.

Assuming you program them through Vera.[/quote]Never mind, I was completely mad! I didn’t realize that when you delete then PIN, and reassign a new one, it goes in the first empty slot.

I was confused by the prompt as well, and wasted a lot of time trying to get this to work, until someone pointed out it is asking for the “index number”, not the actual 4-8 character PIN number. The prompt “Which PIN Code number?” could be changed to something such as “PIN index number?”, or perhaps a suffix could be added to the right of the box.

I am new to this, so not sure how to formally request a change to the prompt on the Events tab in D_DoorLock1.json. Please advise. Many thanks!

I am having the same issue with the kwikset lock. I can get the Lock messages via email and SMS, but I can’t get a Correct pin code notification. I am entering the index number from my list of pin codes.

I also can’t see my list of events on the logs tab of the kwikset log under the dashboard. I see the logs on the mi casa verde screen under the events tab.

I read something about the firmware update being responsible for this. Does anyone know? Anything else I can try to get the pin code notifications to work?

Is there a “Value” that will allow for ANY pin entered? I have 8 user codes, and I have to setup 8 notifications, which is fine, but it seems logical there is a “any” code option, and i’m just not finding it.

Try an asterisk (*) in the [tt]Which PIN code number[/tt] field.

I’ve had this problem too. In the past I was presented with an option for any user and when the notification was received it told me which username it was.

Does the * work?

Just tried it, and it does! This needs much better documentation.
