Kwikset Deadbolt setup

I’m new to home automation and just bought a vera 2 and 2 Kwikset deadbolts. One of the deadbolts seems to work fine (it’s about 25 feet from the vera2). The other deadbolt is about 45 feet away from the vera2 and I keep getting a message that says “Unable to get any information on node”. I assume it’s not working because it’s too far away from the vera2. When I run a stress test it fails all the ping and poll tests. Do I need to buy some wall receptacles or switches to extend the range of the network and place them between the vera2 and the far deadbolt? Also with the Kwikset deadbolts, do I need to buy something that supports beaming or will a cheaper Intermatic HA01 wall receptacle work to extend the range to the far deadbolt?

Thanks,
Chris

IIRC- locks are special and require beaming, so might as well spend a couple more $$ now and get a device (switch, module, receptacle, etc) that supports beaming.

I have two Schlage locks that are battery powered- and they have the least range of all my Z-wave devices.

You can try to re-locate Vera somewhere between the two locks to eliminate the need for a beaming repeater if it’s practical. I recently did this and now have much better connectivity with my locks- although it was a pain in the butt running a new cat5 drop…

You might have considered putting Vera in WiFi client mode and save yourselves the trouble of running a new cat5?

I hate wireless and only use it when there’s absolutely no alternative.
If I can somehow squeeze cat5 (actually now I pull cat6) in somehow- I do it.
