Kwikset Battery

I have a Kwikset deadbolt lock installed. The Batteries are only lasting about a week! I have another Kwikset in a different location, and the batteries last months. I’ve checked to make sure that there’s no friction or misalignment.

Also the polling setting is at 0.

Any ideas?

You just named the culprit. The polling is too short. Set it to something like 10800. Which is 3 hours.

My KwikSet locks are set to poll every 10800 seconds (this is what it defaulted to). My batteries last a little longer than a year. The UI says that setting the polling to 0 means Never Poll, but I have never tried that value.

I was confused with the 0. Not at the computer. Thought that was the use default polling option. One option is to swap the board’s and see how long it lasts. Does one of the locks get used more than the other?

Could be a bad Z-Wave card. As @garrettwp said, if able, try swapping with another lock and see if the problem stays with the card or the lock.
