Just installed a Honeywell Wifi thermostat, and the plugin for it. It’s working great. I set up the basic schedule in the Honeywell app, and then use the Vera plugin to modify the temp based on mode. The Honeywell app is much easier to set up the schedule in rather than using scenes in Vera. When away I use Vera to change the temp, when home, I just reset the Honeywell using Vera to follow it’s program.

Hi
Can someone provide me with the specific Honeywell thermostat model number that this app is designed for? Thanks
This is the model number of the one I used: RTH8580WF1004 RTH8580WF1004
Any one that uses the Honeywell Total Connect System should be OK. As Joey has said before , just remember that your vera has to connect to the Honeywell site to make changes so if the Internet is down the thermostat will just do it’s own thing. Not a big deal for me.
To be clear though, this is for the North America Total Connect system, not the european variety. It should work with any WiFi enabled honeywell thermostats EXCEPT their Lyric thermostat.

I am very happy with the Honeywell with the plugin. Some much better than the Remotec zts-110 z-wave thermostat I had previously. The Honeywell site makes it easy to set up the basic schedule. The vera just takes care of the off schedule things that happen.
Yes, that is correct. Search the app store for “Honeywell” and you’ll find the Honeywell WiFi app. Technically, Vera communicates with the mytotalconnectcomfort.com web portal over the internet, not directly with your thermostat over your local network, so you will need to supply your login credentials to the app.
So as long as you currently access your thermostat through mytotalconnectcomfort.com then your thermostat should be supported.
This is totally amazing and so appreciated! I can now integrate my 5 Mitsubishi HyperHeat Pumps using MyTotalConnect into my vera system to manage my oil fired hot water zones alongside the heat pumps.
This is amazing! How can I create a scene to turn the fan on? I’d like to create a schedule to circulate the air in my home in 20 minute intervals regardless of the heat control being on…
Is this correct word I just Read here? The vera works with Wi-Fi term starts??
Once again the Z-wave vera can communicate with Wi-Fi termstarts???
The Vera does much more than just controlling z-wave devices. It can control many other protocols and network connected devices.
@grwebster yes, the thermostat plugin appears to work well but I don’t see how to tell it to resume program under the home button? Can you tell me what I need to do to accomplish that ?
@joey52685, I just heard from Honeywell. They suspended my account due to excessive pings (over 4200 per day). I got off the phone with them, and told them that I was using this plugin in Vera. They had me check the refresh rate. It was set to 300 (default?).
I have 5 thermostats on 2 HW gateways. Vera2 with UI5.
Has anyone else had this problem? Do you have a recommendation? Refresh rate? Other?
Just curious, as they may have suspected suspicious behaviour due to the number of calls to you account, did they indicate what they thought was acceptable?
How often do you change the thermostats, basically it is calling them every five minutes and given schedules are more than like used that may give you more of a chance to work out how long could extend the refresh rate out too.
I asked what was “normal” and they didn’t say. The woman said they thought mine was “unusual” and excessively hitting their servers. I only change the tstats twice a day remotely. I suppose there’s no harm in refreshing every half hour or so…
I’m still waiting for Honeywell to reinstate my account!
