My sensors work but still has “cannot detect device” on all of them. I can temporarily get rid of this notification by releasing the sensor from the mounting as though I am programming it and thus it is detected by vera UI& but aftersome time before 24hrs or so it goes bac to undetected. They work but is annoying as you are alerted something is wrong when there is not. There might be a time you will ignore this altogether when there is something really critical that needs fixing and before you know it it is too late. Vera should fix this. With UI5 I never had a problem.
Reviving this topic since it’s now January 2017 and I’m having this issue as a new VeraPlus user on UI7. Has anyone found a solution?
Same here.
I upgraded from UI5 to UI7 by going from an older but working VeraLite to a new VeraEdge. I have ~20 door/window sensors, 19 are the cheapo Monoprice ones and one is a fancy expensive Aeon one. On UI7 I have all of the cheapies working, responding, arming and alerting like normal. The Aeon appears normal, then goes “Can’t detect device” after about a day.
Interestingly enough, the Aeon didn’t work totally right on UI5 either. It did report open/closed status, but wouldn’t poll for battery life or any extended features. I stuck it on a door that never gets opened and forgot about it.
Back when I was on UI5, I bought a Z-Wave Plus sensor from Monoprice and it didn’t pair nicely, so I returned it. That was one major reason I undertook the UI7 migration*, so I could use and buy newer Plus devices.
Anyway, a long post to say, same problem here but at least it’s only one of my sensors and not a whole system of them.
*which sucked by the way
I’m a new user with a Vera Plus.
I also have the same issue with three of these Door/Window sensors from Aeon DSB04100-ZWUS.
You can fix them for a while, but within 24 hours it’s back to “Can’t detect”.
Any other recommendations/fixes/suggestions?
By the way, Vera users take note: the same problems exist with the devices on SmartThings!!!
