I have a Vista 20p with 3 partitions. Partition 1 and 2 have keypads, Partition 3 is a common area with 4 contacts and no keypad. I just installed an AD2USB on my Vera 3 (the AD2USB is on Partition 1). I wasn’t sure if Partition 3 is considered an “active partition” so the NumPartitions is set to 2. Everything works fine - however I do not get notification of any faulted contacts located in Partition 3 unless I have Partition 1 or 2 armed. This makes some sense as the Vista 20P only arms Partition 3 when both Partition 1 and 2 are armed. The problem is that I would like Vera 3 to report on the contacts in Partition 3 all of the time. I was thinking that the addition of Partition 3 in the plugin might fix this so I set NumPartitions to 3. As expected, the plugin created a new device “Ademco Vista Partition 3” - but the Vera 3 came up with the “no keypad assigned in Partition 3” error. I am wondering if I should program a non-existent keypad to Partition 3 in the Vista 20P and try this again - any thoughts…? Thanks!
Im not really sure since I only have a 15p that only has one partition but you could try adding all the keypad addresses in for the new device partition 3 since it is the common. Just a guess though. also I think there may be a program setting in the installers menu that lets you assign keypads to the common partition. Might want to have a look at that too
Assuming you assigned keypad ‘12’ to the AD3USB, did you try to add ‘12’ to Partition 3?
A Vista 20p can only have 2 partitions and a common lobby.
I don’t think you can assign a keypad to partition 3 since the panel does not support 3 partitions.
Right, but there is a 3rd partition… what they call Common Lobby, I don’t use that partition. Just 1 and 2.
Perhaps check with the developer of the plugin?
As I said… Only 2 partitions and a common lobby… You can’t assign a keypad to a common lobby and that is not a partition… As far as the vista 20p is concerned.

Try assigning you AD2USB keypad number to partition 0 (zero)
Partition zero is all partitions…

1.) According to the “Ademco Vista Series Programming Guide,” you have the option of assigning keypads to Partition 1, 2, or 3. There is no reference to a “Partition 0.”
2.) I did contact the AD2USB support team and here is their response: “We are not 100% sure on the Vera plugin and Partitions. AFAIK the plugin supports multi partition and the AD2* also supports multiple partitions. This is normally done by assigning a keypad to a partition and then telling the plugin what keypads are on what partition. To disarm / arm a given partition usually requires a “GOTO” command from a keypad. Could you post this question on Vera’s Forums and see if anyone has a good answer. We will ad to a faq here if we can get a solid answer on how the Vera does this.”
I am thinking about programming the Vista 20P for a keypad on Partition 3 using the keypad address of the AD2USB (or I could just leave the AD2USB on Partition 1) to see if that solves my problem… I am a little hesitant because everything (other than the ability to “see” the status of the contacts in my common partition) is working fine. I so new with the Vera 3 that I am afraid that I might dig a hole that I can’t get myself out of…
