Issues connecting to MiOS

There’s been a change at the MiOS service; a new server has been added and HomeWave doesn’t know about this server. This affects the ability of some users to connect remotely to Vera.

I’ve submitted a version to the App store to deal with this issue. The new version will always first try to connect to the server recommended by the Vera discovery message, and then try the known MiOS servers one by one. It also adds the ability to override Vera and connect to an arbitrary URL to either a MiOS server or directly to your Vera (via an open router).

New version 1.21 is now in the app store. This version should solve the MiOS connectivity issues.

Installed the update yesterday. Connects fine now. Thanks.

Looks good for me too. Thanks

hello thanks for your job

i have a problem with the direct connection to vera

the links is just to connect vera or the status xml ?

and the direct switch it"s to force a connection to the vera ?

my adress is good for a browser but homeweve don’t synchronise with my direct link ???

The “Direct connect” setting should not be necessary in normal situations.

If for whatever reason the app doesn’t find the right address for the MiOS gateway, you can enter the address manually in that field.

If you are able to access your Vera directly from the Internet, then enter the Address + port of your Vera in that field, and enable Direct connection. You can do this by setting up port forwarding on your router to your Vera, though this is not recommended due to security concerns (there’s no password to protect your Vera in this case)

ok thank you for the info
Well my nat is configured I redirect port 1492 to port 80 of my vera but it does not work with homewave
by cons it works very well in chrome monnom.dyndns.org: 1492

I do not understand why it hangs on homewave you would use it as the port 3480 of the vera? or other

I will try putting the dmz to see vera

thank you

you can also use findvera.com

For god’s sake, turn that off right now. You are enabling anyone in the world to to control your Vera without any access control.

i have no secure vera

i want to test a control direct but with homewave it’s impossible for me
it’s still weird

HomeWave does not use port 80 on your Vera. To make it work, set up port forwarding to port 3480.

ok yes it’s good

better setup a VPN connection to your home-network and then you can connect straight to your vera without exposing it to the wide web.
like futzle pointed out, it is not a good idea to forward vera ports… vera uses its own port-forwards via UPnP and this can cause conflicts also.
