it refuses to recognize that I enter a numerical value in the field
“invalid values for the notification limits, only numbers are allowed.”

I am experiencing the same issue when attempting to create a new user with version 1.7.439. Is there an obvious solution?
you need to pick an username different then you used in ui5/ui6.
It worked for me.
