I have a VeraLite with the RFXCOM RFXtrx433. I have a two LightwaveRF switches, both working fine on the Vera using the RFXtrx controller plugin.
I have just been trying to add a NEW LightwaveRF switch, making the total 3. However, when i try and add the new switch, it deletes one of the original switches from the Vera (the first one I added I believe). Also, the new device hasn’t paired - the plugin has created the device in Vera, but it isn’t paired.
Doing a restore from a backup before I tried to add the new device restores the original one (although after one restore the RFXtrx433 needed setting up again).
Has anyone had this happen or have any ideas on what could be the cause?
If you create manually the devices using the plugin “device creation” tab, you must take care to not reuse the same couple (remote id, unit code) for several switches.
For pairing, if it is the same thing for LightwaveRF as for Chacon, we need to have the switch and the Vera very very closed when pairing (few centimeters).
I managed to sort it, it’s because the original device was added as a standard on/off switch but I changed the device file to D_DimmableLight1.xml to make it appear as a dimmer.
Changing this back allowed me to add the other switches and then re-add the original correctly as a dimmer.
To change the type of a device managed by the plugin, you can go in the Device creation tab and add again the same device as a new type. If the device already exists, the plugin will do a conversion.
If you have a remote and if the device was first created as a ON/OFF switch because you push the ON or OFF button of the remote, you can trigger the conversion to a dimmable light device just pushiing the dim button from your remote.
