Is it possible to integrate a distributed audio system such as Nuvo and Russound into MicasaVerde? I am mainly interested in creating an interface where I can control in each zone volume, source and power.
If control is possible can a Nuvo/Russound system audio be integrated into scripts?
It’s possible, I looked into this once and the Russound API is pretty similar to the Elk and DSC alarm panels API, so you can have a look at those plugins for an idea.

Why wouldn’t micasverde create a plugin? Weird that they ask you to create it.
Why not create it and just charge for the plugin?
Most if not all of the plugins are developed by the community. MCV has too much other things to worry about and limited on man power. If you know how to program, then contributing to the community is a great thing to do.
Maybe MiCasa can create this one?
@mcvflorin
If it is similar why doesn’t micasa make one? There seems to be a demand for it.
My2Cents.

Because the demand might not be as high as the security system and most plugin development is done by the community. There is also a good chance that the time and money is much higher than the return. MCV made the plugin development for people who want to extend their control capabilities and to develop on their own.
Do you have any equipment to control ir e.g. Gc100, sq blaster etc?
I see they have limited functionality capability in the ir set for Russound and that may be a starting point to look at.
I understand what you are saying Garrett. I still think that having a Russound plugin is a huge selling point for MiCasa.

I have SQ Blaster. But the proper way of controlling the Russound is using Rnet via a Serial to Ethernet adapter.
Homeseer does the following with their Russound Plugin:
Allows control of Russound systems from HomeSeer
Browse HomeSeer music libraries on Russound keypads
Monitor Russound status to trigger events
Control all Russound keypads directly from your computer
sources to a specific zone, also supports specific source actions (Tuners, XM, etc.)
Set a Zone to a specific source
Set Zone volume
Zone control (Play, Pause, Next, Previous, etc.)
Audio Control (Bass, Treble, Balance, etc.)
Any Zone Key press can trigger an event
Trigger events when Zones turn on and off
Trigger events when specific source changes occur
