Is my controller dead??

Hi

I ran into some problems with my controller. Suddenly I could not log in, home.getvera.com said “invalid user or password” Waited some time and tried again and I could log in, but my Vera Plus was not found. I did some power cycles and check connectivity through my router. The router did not report any traffic to the controller. After some waiting I desided to try a factory reset, after that the power led would just be blinking green on and off, while the other leds were solid on. I waited for 30mins and tried a power cycle again. Now I’m left with the power, internet and wifi LED solid green, nothing else.

Please Help!

It sounds like you have factory reset your Vera and must now begin the configuration process again.

I suggest that you call support and have them figure out what you need to do. I would expect that they can get your Vera restored from a backup and save you a lot of trouble.

I would be very happy if it’s not broken. Tried the “set up new controller” thingy but it was not found on the network.
Have raised a ticket with support, but my experience tells it will take some time before they respond. If they can restore it that would be perfect.
BUT, why did this happen in the first place? I have finally gotten system up and running with some new devices and the only thing left was some scene creation… Is it not reliable?

If you want quick support, then call the phone number during their business hours. getvera.com/support

Why it happened? I think the Vera got reset because you pushed the reset button. I have no idea why you couldn’t log in before you pressed the reset button.

Offcourse, I knew what to expect when I pushed the reset button. But why it suddenly was unresponsive BEFORE I tried resetting it…? The reason I went the reset route was due to the fact that I have backups and figured that would be the fastest solution to the problem. Waiting for support seemed like the slow solution… Calling is not a preferred method, I’m not native American speaking.
