Is it possible to access Honeywell Lynx touch 5100 with Vera Lite

Hello,

I’m new to the world of Z wave and I’ve been successful in hooking up my Kwikset Deadbolt and Foscam Ip Cameras at our rental cabin. I’m using the Vera Lite. I just installed the new (er) Honeywell Lynx touch 5100 and have it monitored via the landline.

My alarm monitoring company wants an additional $15 per month to provide the Honeywell total connect service and they tell me the only way to access Total connect is via the GSM Module so I would have to buy and install that too.

I’ve read a little about the AD2USB, but it seems that you have to have a computer running 24/7 to use it and may require hardwiring, which isn’t going to work for me.

Is there currently any way to access my Lynx touch remotely via my Vera Lite?

Thanks

I just installed a Lynx 5100 and have it as a secondary controller to my Vera 3. I can not arm or disarm the system through vera. You need to buy an additional module (wifi or GSM) and subscribe to Alarmnet / Total Connect to be able to remotely disarm the system. There is a port to connect a CAT 5 cable which would avoid having to buy a module but I think you would still need to subscribe to the paid service.

How did you add the L5100 to the existing Vera Lite network? I am trying to do the same thing.

Yeah I read that I’ll have to subscribe to their service which is a major downfall since I was looking to self-monitor my alarm in order to bypass the monthly fees…I am now looking for alarm systems that have EVL-3 support and allow VerLite functionality.
