Is it possible to 2 antennas (indoor, outdoor) in the same RFXtrx433?

Hello,

I recently purchased Oregon Sensors, but as I live in a building lined with aluminum, and if i have the blinds drawn I do not receive the signal of the outdoor sensors …

I’m thinking of putting a second antenna to RFXtrx using a “T” connector, Does anyone know is feasible to put 2 antennas with a T connector and whether they would work both antennas with the same RFXtrx?

thanks

Antennas need to be matched to the coaxial transmission line and the coax in turn, to the transmitter/receiver electronics. It’s not a simple case of twisting a few bits of wire together. Having said that and given the application is not overly critical, you may be able to use an RG6 TV splitter like so:

You would just use it in reverse. The two aerials are connected to the two outputs using proper RG6 cable with F connectors and the input would connect to the electronics, again using the appropriate coax cabling. Not an ideal solution but may do the job, so worth trying.

Items like this are not suitable:

Do an eBay search for sma splitters they should be easy to find
