IR confusion

Hi all,

OK, I’ve added my GC-100 and my TV has been recognised .
But how do I get for example a trigger to get the gc-100 to send a command??
In the scene for the room I don’t get the option to use the gc-100.
I guess I’m a bit lost in where I am meant to be looking.

Any help appreciated!

Hmmmm!

Well I got the option to add the GC-100 as my TV’s parent - which made sense. Though the warning about bricking the verde was a bit worrying!!!. But now the tv (under av gear) has gone and I guess I was expecting the gc-100 to appear under triggers or something.
Bit lost what’s going on here.

You don’t change the parent relationship. When you add a new IR device, select the correct IR emitter from the dropdown box and select your gear. Be sure to test before you finish adding it. If your gear is not in the database, then you may have to create your own Device and Implementation files with the IR codes and add them to your Vera.

Thanks for that.
What I don’t get is how (for example) I setup an appliance module so when turned on gets the GC100 unit to send an IR code.
I can’t see anyway to configure this in the UI!!!
Is it Luup code only?. Do I place some Luup code on the GC100 ?

if GC-100 send IR code endif

That kind of functionality not in the UI???

Ahhhh, OK! What you do is create a new Scene and add a Trigger for the appliance module turning on. Then you have to go to the Advanced tab and add the Device you want to send the command to and then choose the command. This is not a free-type field; it can only send commands that are already available for the device, so if you can already control that device via IR, then you will be able to select any of those same commands here.

Once that is set up, every time the appliance module turns on, then it will send the IR command to that device.
