IR and RF Blinds

I have motorized blinds. One set uses an IR remote and the other has an RF remote.

Is there something that will convert z-wave to IR/RF so I can use these blinds with my Vera?

Thanks!
Adam

There are currently a couple different IR options USB-UIRT and Global Cache’s solutions:

And if it is Somfy Radio Technology (RTS) then there has been a plug-in written for their serial to RTS converter (URTSI):

Thanks for the info.

The USB-UIRT is interesting but won’t work for me. The blinds are upstairs and the Vera is downstairs. I can’t run a USB cable through the house just to control the IR blinds.

Isn’t there a z-wave to IR device? I was expecitng something with a form factor of the HSM100 but that sends IR or RF signals instead of sensing motion, light, and temp.

It seems like this kind of product would be very useful. I do have ethernet in the room so I suppose an ethernet to IR sort of device would work too…

Thanks for the help!

So the Global Caché would work for you via Ethernet. I just plug mine into a little Airport Express. But you’re right - we really should expect some small wall wort or junction box type device that blasts IR and Somfy RF both!

Or you could just wait till the Global Cache’s iTach WF2SL is released. (It’s the next gen GC-100-x device.) It will also have IR learning built in!

I am told I should have one at home next week! I’ll be posting about it as soon as I get it set up!
