iPad App

Let’s hope we get an iPad App, $499 for a touchscreen controller is awesome.

They said any iPhone app will work on it and all the developer has to do is make the resolution better to go full screen and look nicer.

I don’t know how I ever got to the point of thinking $100 for light switches and $499 for remote controls sounded “awesome” but I’m right there with you.

I was thinking even the browser UI would be much more usable on the iPad than it is on my dinky iPhone screen, but now I hear the new version is Flash based. Dang.

I guess we’ll be pixel-doubling the SQ Remote app for now.

Hey, I know there is a lot of Apple love in these forums… but I’d appreciate it if somebody could tell me why http://findvera.com doesn’t do anything on Android’s browser. I get a “Web page cannot be displayed”. Droid doesn’t.

So MCV has the site setup to browser sniff and it dies when its not a iPhone or Blackberry? That’s odd. The Android’s browser is based on the WebKit framework. “The browser scores a 93/100 on the Acid3 Test.” (wiki). I realize the latest version on the iPhone scores a 100/100, but is there any chance that findvera.com will work on an Android based phone?

It does seem odd that it doesn’t. How about findvera.com/mobile? Does that work?

iAgree with the original post!

I’m gonna get an iPad for my pad

I dont have an iPhone (my wife does)and thus my wife is always in control of the TV using the SQ app.

Also =)

You’ve got the SQ App? :open_mouth: - I thought it wasn’t released yet… /confused.

You’re right, it’s not released. Some of us are involved in the beta testing. It’s gonna be very cool, but it’s taking longer than expected. As expected

/jealous :stuck_out_tongue:

For anyone else who’s not an Apple fanboi, you may want to wait a little bit longer, as they expect bunch of other full-featured, better-hardware, similar-or-lower-price tablets released later this year running other OSes, including Android… ::slight_smile:

LOL, so true.
I reluctantly got an ipod touch for remote control ($150 ebay) and have picked up a few used Airport Express units ($50 ebay) for wireless distributed audio. But I am definitely not what you’d consider an Apple fan boy, the price had just come down to where it was the best bang for my buck.

As an iTampon (jk) alternative, have you seen the JooJoo ? It has 1080p, usb, camera, flash, and is browser based (Hello Vera)

Ah, the failed CrunchPad?

What about MSI’s 10" Android tablet on Tegra2 chipset?

I’ve been waiting for something like the iPad for a while but if something comes along that seems as good as a deal with battery life etc by the time its released then i will consider it. Flash support would be a deal breaker for me if it wasn’t for the SQ remote!
I’m sure it’ll get the support added at some point though as every man + dog will be bringing out this type of thing and using it as an advertising ploy that will not look good for apple.

saw this timely post at engadget comparing a pile of the various tablets to the ipad.

has a purdy chart and all.

Why does that guy demonstrating it in the video look just like Chaka from the Land of the Lost?

um- chaka comment from chimpware- giggle giggle… :o ;D

That’s funny I missed the irony there

As a proud non-owner of anything bearing name Apple, I hope you’re right
