This is just a comment and not an issue but thanks for continuing iOS 5 support while still adding features for iOS 8. I’m not sure how long this can be done but it allows users to pick up an old iPad or iPod and use it as a remote or wall panel control. And once you get to iOS 6, you can use the Guided Access option in iOS to lock the device to only allow HomeWave. Nice to pick up an old iPod Touch 4 and mount on the wall near your entrance to shut off lights as you leave, activate security etc.

I started developing HomeWave with exactly that in mind: using it on cheap outdated 2nd hand iPhones, that will necessarily run on older versions of iOS. I have an iPhone 3GS running HomeWave fixed to the wall…
It requires some quirky coding at times, and I suspect that at some point it’ll no longer be possible to package apps for the iOS versions or CPUs found in the older iPhones, but my aim is to support iOS 5 and Arm v7 processors for as long as possible.
