intermatic applicance module HA04

I used this HA04 intermatic outdoor module for my fish pond water falls all year last year and last month without any problem. i unplugged it the other day for a couple of hours. when I plugged it back it the whole problem began; “transmit failed with code 1” (when I turned it on from my iphone), and “unable to get any information” (when i click ‘configure node right now’). what I dont understand is when I tried it indoor to test a lamp, it works perfectly ON/OFF from my iphone. The proximity of my Vera2 to the water falls has not changed. I did an include/exclude from the network a dozen times already but to no avail. Can someone clue me please. thanks in advance.

Sounds like the module may not be a direct hop from Vera and the routing isn’t fully working (yet).

What Vera firmware and Z-Wave firmware are you on; .1245 / 3.20 by any chance, something else?

Have you tried a full-power inclusion with the module and Vera in their intended locations?

It might be faulty module. Intermatic modules were cheap, and they tend to die once in a while.
Write to their support, they have long warranty, and they don’t usually ask for original receipt.

when you exclude/include are you including it in its final location? If you include it near vera and then move it the routing will not be correct unless you run a “repair network” or “update neighbors” (from that specific device) I use several of those switches and they have been very reliable for me so far.

oTi@, I am using the latest version .1245 and i did not do a full power inclusion. i will try that.
325xi, if all else fail, i will write to their support (homesettings) ask for their help.
pgrover516, i did not include/exclude it in its final location, i took it upstairs close to vera and move it back outdoor to the fish pond. ok i will do the exclude/include outdoor in the water falls. thanks guys and will post the results.

Just to let you know, before i installed the kwikset in its final location (front door), i brought it close to vera and did the inclusion; then i installed it and until now almost a year it is still working. Same thing with my ZIR000 motion sensor, i did not include it in its final location; i.e., i brought it upstair near vera for inclusion then i installed it in the garage - still working for about 7 months now. ok thanks again.

when you include something new on the network Vera takes note of which other devices are nearby, or more specifically which devices to use for a “hop” if the current one being installed is out of range, using the method you described above would only work reliably if the device signal can reach Vera without a hop, or if there was a “network repair” done at some point, I’m not sure if there is any kind of network repair going on in the background when not requested, this may be the case with the newer firmware
