Intercom that can tie into Vera3, and unlock the front door?

I’m looking to install an intercom system into my gutted house, that includes a front door bell component, and will also unlock the front door upon command.

The intercom I’m looking at has a Relay Control board option (https://www.centralvacuumstores.com/intercom-security/voice-music-and-video/intercom-components/accessories/valet-vaux-auxiliary-relay-control-board) that will trigger a door strike.

Can I tie that component into the vera3, so I at least know the front door has been opened, or let the vera3 unlock the door?

on the 2 outputs, you can connect a fibaro binary sensor, which can trigger the frontdoor lock.
But why would do it by vera? Somewhere you have to push a button to activate it. I think you dont want that the frontdoor lock is automatically opened when someone rings at your door.

Thanks for your response maomanna,

Preferably I want to use a Z-Wave enabled doorlock that I can use to open the front door via z-wave (vera3). The intercom I’m looking at only works with an electric door strike mechanism, which I don’t want to install if I can avoid it (hate the buzzing sound).

BTW I would never want the door to be unlocked whenever anyone rang the doorbell, I only want the door to be opened when I command it to (sorry if I gave that impression).

So would I attach the fibaro sensor (nifty device) to the intercom door release wires, which would then send a door open command to the lock?

your controller would send the signal to open the door.
You still need a device to open it.
Probably your own suggestion would work best, i think (z-wave enabled doorlock)
