Smarthome has started sending leak sensors (model 2852-222) to anyone who purchased one of their starter kits at Costco. Altsteon now supports this Leak Sensor. (It will actually appear to Vera as a motion sensor, but it works the same way for all intents and purposes.) To use it, install Altsteon 0.8 or later and create a new device with the following settings:
Device type : urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:MotionSensor:1
Internal ID : <address of the device in aa.bb.cc format>
Description : <Whatever you want to call this device>
Upnp Device Filename : D_MotionSensor1.xml
Upnp Implementation Filename : I_InsteonLeakSensor.xml
Ip Address : <blank>
MAC : <blank>
Room : <don't care>
Parent device : plm
This is just a first cut. I will create a cleaner version soon.
Put away the Insteon Hub and use Vera instead!
Enjoy and avoid water damage!
Update: The attached files have been removed because they have already been rolled into Altsteon verision 0.08 and later.
Very excited to see these sensors being supported. I installed and went to test to make sure that it senses leaks. I placed one in a small amount of water, the led is on, but in altsteon_cli, no notification, let alone the UI5 gui. What am I missing?

You may need the Altsteon daemon from the latest nightly build.
Do you know if this work without Altsteon? I'm still not ready to move - so far native insteon suport has work for me
Doubtful. Native insteon support is meager at best in Vera. Altsteon is already much better in terms of breadth of devices supported. The leak sensor was introduced this year and generates different codes than other devices that came before it.
