Hi,
I want know if its possible install on Vera3 the Mochad daemon server for CM15 control without have a other linux device running this process. Vera3 have a linux kernel internal and I think that it possible have the Mochad plugin and mochad daemon server behind Vera3.
I haven’t any knowledge about programing but think that this is a answer that a lot of people are waiting for open to vera3 to X10 world.
The mochad would need to be compiled against the Vera 3 architecture. Even though that Vera is linux based, the architecture is not the same as x86 found on pc’s.
You should be able to compile the mochad daemon for Vera 3. Garrettwp is right about the architecture not being x86, but mochad builds fine on these other architectures. In fact, most of us use mochad on a Pogoplug with is ARM based. Vera 3 is built on OpenWRT and mochad should build fine on that platform. If you look back through the mochad plugin thread you will see some discussion of this already:
I have a Vera 2 and didn’t want to load it up anymore than I had to, so I run mochad on a pogoplug instead. Right now Buy.com has the black Pogoplug for $30 with free shipping and Adorama has them for $33 with free shipping. These drop as low as $20 sometimes. The money was worth it to me to avoid the hassle of setting up a build environment, but then again I also use my Pogoplugs for other things (weather station logging, webcams, and ir blasting/receiving via lirc). They also only use a few watts so it isn’t a bunch of electricity being used, and I have two pogoplugs with cm15as to cover both phases of my house.
If you just want mochad running quickly / easily that is probably the easiest way to go. BUT, I don’t want to discourage you from building it for Vera directly. You should be able to run mochad on the Vera 3 with just a little bit of work.
