Ok, thanks, I overlooked that step. I have created the device and reloaded a few times and now I see the link for “Info Viewer page”. However, clicking it brings up a page saying only
ERROR:Module not found:port_3480
I’m on UI7 (it’s what my Vera Lite came with) and am remoted in over HTTPS.
Started happening last week after I attempted the install.
I installed the files (screen shot attached), then added just the following and power cycled:
device_file: D_InfoViewer1.xml
Then tried filling in the following and power cycled:
name: Info Viewer
device_type: urn:schemas-a-lurker-com:device:InfoViewer:1
device_file: D_InfoViewer1.xml
imple_file: I_InfoViewer1.xml
device_json: D_InfoViewer1.json
Are you accessing Vera remotely or locally? If you have selected “secure my vera” or turned on the firewall in advanced network configuration, then you are effectivly always accessing remotely and there is a known UI7 compatibility issue.
Same question as above your reply: “Are you accessing Vera remotely or locally?”
If remotely, no go.
Connecting to LuCI is only possible when you are on your home-network. Yes, it is possible to make this work from outside, but DON’T do this!
@C4Vette I installed the infoViewer plugin on a Vera Edge. When I access it over the local network, and try to use the InfoViewer “LuCI Router interface” link, I get the “404 not found” error message too.
Possibly LuCI is not installed anymore. This might be another function removed like WiFi functions. For some inexplicable reason, the Vera Edge does not run a WiFi bridge either, while the Vera3 does.
Any thoughts on why InfoViewer comes up under “Interfaces & Misc Devices” (i.e. with the OpenSprinkler stations) while all other plugins/apps come up under “Apps”(where the OpenSprinkler Controller is put too)?
I second C4Vette’s response. I’ve verified that LuCI works on Vera3 for both UI5 and UI7 accessed from the internal network.
It will not work if you have enabled “security” on UI7 or the firewall in advanced network settings (which basically disables access from your internal home network but still allows access from the cloud. (hmmm. given recent data breeches, I’m not sure which is safer, given that Vera is based in Hong Kong with engineering offices in Romania.)
Think of Vera3 as a 4-port Wifi router with a Z-Wave module and special software. VeraEdge as a cost-down which solely focuses on the home automation part and leaves the routing to others.

As mentioned LuCI is not installed on the Vera Edge, so there is no …/luci.sh, nor any of the LuCI executables on the Vera Edge. They are, of course, installed and found on a Vera Lite and a Vera 3. I used WinSCP to check into this. Nor does the Vera Edge support WiFi bridge mode as the Vera 3 did.
It is very frustrating to see these steps backward with the Vera Edge.
Hmm, maybe MCV left it out beacause people ‘damage’ the OS (OpenWRT) and call support for help :-
If I ever ‘upgrade’ my Lite to an Edge I could try to manually install Luci:
opkg update
opkg install luci
/etc/init.d/uhttpd start
/etc/init.d/uhttpd enable (for luci after reboots)
But it could get messy… (dependencies).
It will cost memory when enabled.
But you said you want to have a look at the USB-ports. Can you log into command prompt with PuTTY? If so you can use Linux-commands to view info about USB like:
Did anyone ever get Info Viewer running in the Vera Edge with UI7. I held of trying it – got distracted with other things – and now find that having remote access to the log files would be useful again (because I likely have a bug in my plugin code and am not local)
Could I PLEASE get detailed instructions about HOW TO INSTALL Info Viewer on Vera, UI7? I got tired of messing things up, reset, repair and so on. Thank you, I appreciate!
