Rather than use my alarm panel to trigger this siren (mounted outdoor), I’d rather create a panic button to use within Homewave.
My device is a Honeywell 748, here are the specs:
Rated Voltage 12VDC
Current Draw 1.2 Amp max. @12VDC
Black: Power Return
Red: Power Positive; Warble tone (will use red for warble)
Yellow: Power Positive; Steady tone
{White: Tamper
White: Tamper} I'll wire these directly to the panel/zone for monitoring.
I do have an MimoLite sitting in a box and I was testing it this morning and for the life of me I can’t figure out why the relay side isn’t registering any voltage (testing using a multi-meter). Any command classes etc I should be using for this type of application. I hear the relay but no voltage…
Thanks in advance…
The relay outputs on the mimolite are isolated dry contacts.
To control the siren, you would use a 12VDC power supply… connect power supply positive to mimolite relay common contact, siren positive to mimolite NO contact and siren negative to power supply negative.
You can the activate the siren by triggering the relay on the mimolite.
… and you are freaking awesome ! Perfect… I’ll post some pictures in case anyone else needs to do this… Thank you so much.

And a diagram.
Parts used:
[1] Honeywell 748 siren (2 white wires, 1 yellow, 1 red and 1 black). I opted to use red over yellow.
[1] MimoLite paired to Vera (no MimoLite plugin installed).
[1] Length of 18/2 alarm wire from siren to Mimo location.
[1] 12VDC wall plug (in addition to that provided by Fortrezz).
[1] UPS optional for both plugs.
Big thanks to Cybrmage for assistance in properly wiring this. Works perfectly !
