I would like to control my sprinkles via Vera…
I have had two ideas…
A bunch of Appliance modules (or dimmers) reworked to switch low voltage…
OR…
Some sort of device I haven’t found which allows multiple switches in one device with relay contacts…
I have been thinking about this too… it seems like it would be a little cheaper to use a realy board than the etherrain, especially if you want to have more than 8 valves.
One option:
CAI Webcontroller ($35 on Amazon)
8-channel ttl level relay board ($30 or so?)
There are also a TON of USB and serial controlled relays on ebay. There are various options for getting ethernet control for the relays too, I’m still trying to sort it all out.
One ethernet device is the DAEnetIP2 controller. It looks like it can control 24 relays. and is ~$80.
Another is a combination of a MAIWO NAS/BT box($35) and a USB to RS-232 adapter. The ebay sellers show it working with a rs232 controlled relay board.
I have no idea how any of these work but I’ll probably try one eventually.
