I would like to use my iphone to start a scene when i get close to the house. There are a few threads about that on here, but to be honest well beyond my capabilities at the moment. I had an idea about a solution, dont know if that would be possible. If you could start a scene when your phone logs into your wifi somehow, that might be easier to do than using gps ? I would not know how to do this, but i thought i mention the idea, maybe someone would know if thats doable
That way you could diable the alarm, turn up the heating etc when you get close to the house
I use the pingsensor app for this, it pings periodically and your phone will only respond when it’s on your home network. Use this response to the ping to trigger your arrive home scene. In the scene have a virtual switch turned on so vera recognises you’re home otherwise the ping will continue to try and run the scene every time it pings your phone while it’s on your home network.

Ah thats great. I did see the thread, but did not really look at it as i thought it was the complicated version with setting up a server and a lot of other stuff involved. I think i probably should have read this thread before i posted my idea… oooops…
Will install the plugin tonight (cant do it from work as very restricted browser) and see if i understand it. But from description this is great.
