I have several apps that show only the generic blue icon in Safari and Firefox. In Chrome they show a torn page icon. In Firefox, for example, “Virtual on/off switch” temporarily flashes “loading icon” but nothing happens. Is this a common issue, or is there a problem with my vera?
Icons from plugins do not show up in smartphone apps, unless the app vendor has made some special consideration for it. Instead, a generic icon is displayed.
This has been discussed several times on this forum, including within the last three weeks. Use the search function for more details.
I guess when you are refering to “apps” you are refering to plugins from apps.mios.com since you are saying that you view them in firefox or other browsers.
It makes a big difference how you access your vera, when I access it locally I get all the icons, when I access it through cp1.mios.com I don’t get icons for plugins.
I filed a bug concerning this topic about a year ago, but mcv doesn’t care:

That is probably the issue. It is a pain to log in locally since the vera is in a vacation home. I will try will Remote Desktop to see if it works. Perhaps this is the issue with vacation ghost as well; the interface shows no ghosts but the lights are turning on and off.
I confirmed that the icon issue is caused by logging in remotely. I logged in using remote desktop and used the local ip and the icons all work.
