I can't get Vera 3 to work

Hello people,

I just got a brand new Vera 3 (EU version) and have been struggling for 3 days now to try to get it to work with no result. I already have a router/wifi so I only plan on using Vera for z-wave and ip cameras. When I power my Vera 3 it goes through the whole start-up process and ends up with the following status on the lights:

Power: solid green
WAN: blinking fast (green)
WIFI: blinking fast (green)
Z-wave: solid green

It never gets to the solid orange power lights and solid green WAN light as depicted in the following link:

cp.mios.com/setup_platform.php?platform=v3

Needless to say, when I hit “continue” the Vera3 is not found, producing the following message:

“Unit not found on your local network
I cannot find any unit on your home network.
Please double check if your unit is connected to the Internet and you are in the same home network with it.”

This happens whether I plug the ethernet cable from my router to my Vera3’s WAN or LAN sockets. I’m accessing Vera3 through it’s own wifi. When connected through WAN I get no internet to my device (ipad), when connected through LAN I get internet on the device but from the 192.168.81.1 MiOS page I get a message that says it couldn’t connect to the internet, so I can’t even get a proper firmware update.

I’m very frustrated, I have a lot of z-wave gadgets ready to be installed and I can’t get passed even recognizing the Vera3.

Your help will be greatly appreciated

My vera3 is connected to the router on the vera’s wan port. That works.

Did you check if your router assigns a proper ip to the vera (on the router you should see the vera as a connected device)? Can you access your vera through the local lan (not through the vera’s wifi)?

It seems like your vera’s running just fine, seems more like a connection problem on your lan.

Thank you chixxi for your reply. You were right, I tried Vera with my father’s router and it worked just fine. Time for me to change my piece of sh$t router!
