I am worry for build mysensor in future

hi guys
i have just a question , how many years will work this devices and gateway ?
I decide to share this idea (get a open plugin controller and build mysensors ) with my friends and family and people of my city and cheer them for this work , but I am worry for future. worry for Conk devices or gateway to different reasons ( in future ) reason for examples : new upgrade for firmware and dont support my gateway or remove the open plugin in vera from vera team or other unknown reasons in future ( for conk my devices or gateway ) . is my worry is correct ? or this devices will work for always correct and will not conk ?

I am using MySensors as well. There’s always a risk that something changes and breaks things, but in this case I think the risk is pretty small. For the foreseeable future (5 years) you should be safe:

[ul][li]Vera has thus far been pretty good about plugin compatibility between firmware versions. Many plugins built on UI5 work on UI7 (like the MySensors plugin)
[/li]
[li]The MySensors plugin source code is available. Even if the MySensors team abandons Vera, you or someone else in the vera comunity stands a pretty good chance of fixing issues when they come up.
[/li][/ul]

@intveltr
so now we have vera (with last version firmware) and we have last source code of my sensor . our devices is build and working correctly , is this true? if i don’t want to upgrade my sensors and vera firmware , but is that possible for breaks my sensors again ? in other means until when we dont upgrade vera or my sensors . is that possible we have problem ?

The problem will come when you buy a new zwave device that is only compatible with a new firmware.

so , that is possible if I want upgrade my vera firmware , breaks my sensors for always and if i don’t upgrade my vera firmware so i will not use a new z wave devices?

Possible but not very likely. Plugins usually keep working well between firmware upgrades, even major ones. If you want to be 100% sure, check the MySensor or Vera forums before upgrading your firmware.
