just bought a Fibaro FGSD-002 smoke sensor. I have paired it successfully. I have set up a notification for tamper detection and I successfully receive a notification if I remove the rear cover.
is there a way to test the smoke detection side. Do i have to light a piece of paper and let the smoke drift onto the sensor, or is the a test function within the unit?
@col8eral, because the smoke detection does not have a smoke button test, you can test it by placing the device into a smoke environment.
Before doing this, enable the “Security Alert” option in “Notifications Settings”.
Then arm the sensor or create a notification directly from your device.
Eventually you can contact the Customer Care Department at support@getvera.com
Me was told, not a good idea, due to smoke particles.
You can buy ( ebay) spray cans to test smoke detectors. No smell, not dangerous and specifically for this this reason.
