Let me start by saying that IPCam-central.com and David K are awesome. I’ve made no secret of my hatred of Foscam on this (and every) forum but David K. and IPCam-central, who I did not buy my broken cam from, exchanged it and sent me a working, very cool, new Foscam cam.
Now for mbairhead to eat a little crow…I plugged the new cam in, it recognized my network immediately, and setting it up on for wi-fi took just minutes. I was wrong about Foscam cams, they are as advertised. I was NOT wrong about foscam.us, they are dirt bag thieves and I hope nothing but painful pocks on all of them, but that aside, I will recomend this cam and IPCam-central.com to anyone who asks.
On another note, a big kudo goes to the good folks at MCV. Earlier this week I had a certificate issue and wasn’t able to access my vera remotely. Less than 2 hours after submitting a ticket they had not only responded but had resolved the issue. Thanks for the quick response and help.
Oh yeah… even if I do find a cheaper price I will still deal with IPCam-central.com. Just because of their customer service.
They were most helpful with my choice of a smarteye and even custom configured one for me which has now become a regular catalog item (or they found a smart eye that had the options i wanted and made it available). Either way they were great. The custom camera was still at my door in less than two weeks. Also… you can also deal with them through Amazon.com ( Amazon.com Seller Profile: IPcam Central) Very fast to respond to email before I even bought their products (as well as after).
@mbairhead I’m surprised that foscam.us treated you like that. I purchased an outdoor ip cam from them back in July but they shipped the cam with an European plug. I called them and they were very helpful. They sent me correct plug for North America without even asking for the other one back.
Nevertheless, I’m glad that everything worked out for you.
