Playing with my new HSM100 now… I have read the wiki page on the 3in1 beastie.
I am running UI2 .994
So there are 2 timers… a wakeup interval of 1800 seconds and a poll time which is blank (default).
I assume wakeup tells the device to wakeup every 1800 secs and report back? How is this different than the poll time?
At the moment the sensor is on batteries so didnt tweak them to anything else. I can see that I want to mod this for use with a wall wart.
What about when it detects motion? Doesn’t it report back immediately instead of waiting to be polled? If it does report back motion immediately I am not seeing that reflect real time (does it also report back current temp and light on motion detect?)
Looks like its configured properly… it shows up as a 3in1 temp and light levels seem okay just that when i wave my hand in front of it sometimes it blinks red, sometimes not…
It also tends to show a green cog from time to time showing conf_jh#5 right now the green cog has been there for awhile. I thought that only showed up while configuring… not all the time.
Tere is a third “time” which may be the most important of the three. You can set the amount of time the device waits after sensing motion (the red LED blinks) and when it will trigger again. This is set in custom z-wave settings using the parameters listed in the instructions that came with the 3-in-1.
Okay. so it should upon motion immediately send that back to vera, then a timer starts before ‘rearming’
I hate to sound dumb… butttttttt… :
Looking at the docs I see 6 parameters…
1 sensitivity
2 On Time
3 LED On/Off
4 Light Threshold
5 Stay Awake
6 On Value
The descriptions don’t seem to match any timer for amount of time device wait before triggering again.
okay… i guess i took the wording in the docs too literally…
“On Time sets the number of minutes that the lights stay on when
motion has not been detected.”
Which to me meant it was when you were using the device to directly control another zwave unit ( switch)
I usually set the polling time to the minimum time of 360 seconds. This way the light level and temp are updated as often as possible.
The sensitivity (motion) is great to change depending on the distance between your 3 in 1 and the area being monitored. The higher the sensitivity the more it drains the batteries.
The “Time On” is probably the setting you want to experiment with. Once motion is detected the unit will not respond to any other motion until the time on period has lapsed. Consider it a reset timer. I have a 3 in 1 in my hallway that turns on the hallway and stair pot lights @ 5% for 2 minutes if it is dark. Since the lights are on for 2 minutes I set the Time On to 2 minutes so when the lights go out the motion sensor is ready again.
