How to view Node ID

Is there an easy way to get the Node ID of a device (the number used in neighbors and routing variables) It doesn’t appear to be on the advanced tab)
Is there a plug in or easy way to get a report of all devices with their device ID and Node ID?

It’s the altid of a Z-Wave device.

Plugin option asked and answered here: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,33298.msg244095.html#msg244095

Note also that the excellent ALTUI plugin from @amg0 can provide that list too.

Silly Question, I noticed that as one includes/exclude multiple devices over time that the device number continues to clock upwards, mean while previously used device numbers that were deleted are no longer used, is there anyway of doing “house cleaning” via an utility and for lack of another word re assign the device numbers to existing device starting at the lowest number increment up so that the previously unassigned numbers are reused? Mike

Sorry for those that suffer from OCD … but the answer is No!

However, the old node numbers are not lost. They will be reused when the Z-Wave network needs them and the node IDs usually wrap when you get close to the 232 limit.

Vera device IDs, distinct from node IDs, continue well beyond 232. I don’t know if there is a limit to that number or if it ever wraps.

Thanxs Richard… I’ll wear the “OCD” title with pride… ;D

Thanxs @Z-wave, for the explanation. I had understood that the system continues to reuse previously assigned numbers, but was wondering if there was a utility that would repack (re assign) the system after years of use… so that device ID are not in the hundreds even though I only have 100 devices…hmm I’m starting to feel an OCD impulse coming over me, ok Richard I guess this is an academic inquiry and when said and done isn’t really fixing anything.
