How to turn on light when viewing camera

I want a light to come on when I view a camera. I went to the Settings tab for the camera device on the Dashboard, selected a light from the “Which lights should be turned on when viewing this camera” menu, and did a Save.

The light itself responds whe I click on it but does not come on automatically when I view the camera. I’m using the Generic IP Camera plugin from the Marketplace. Is this another thing that just doesn’t work or do I need to configure something else too? Thanks.

Did you check [tt]Turn on the lights: When I view the camera from the web or phone.[/tt] also? (The last section above the [tt]Url[/tt] field on the [tt]Settings[/tt] tab.)

No I hadn’t so I did that but the light still doesn’t come on. I’ve tried viewing the camera directly by opening it in the Dashboard, vy viewing it from the “Add a new camera” Wizard, by viewing it with Home Buddy, and even directly connecting from a Firefox window. The light comes on whe I click on it manually, but won’t come on when I view the camera.
