how to repair a switch without deleting it?

I have a Vera Edge…and formally a Wink…
Currently I have a GE Switch that was working fine. I unpaired it from the old wink, thinking this was just some cleanup activity, but when I did that it no longer worked on the vera edge…

So question is, as I have this switch setup in multiple areas, and scenes, I’d rather not delete and start over. Vera does not see it any longer. Is there a way to tell the vera to repair the device? Or I am stuck having to delete the no longer pair device and add it from scratch all over?

Thanks

JB

If by unpair you mean that you excluded the device then it has been reset and no longer has a node number. You will have to include it on the Edge which will assign a new node number and any scenes etc using this will have to be updated.

I thought devices could be connected to multiiple hubs? Or is that not the case?

There can be multiple controllers in a Z-Wave network. When you unpair/exclude a Z-Wave device it is removed from the network and reset to factory defaults.

You need to include/pair the switch again, if you want to use it. As @Slartibartfast stated, it will have a new node number when you include it. So, you will need to adjust and scenes or plugins to use the new node/device.

You can delete (not unpair), confirm delete the z-wave device which will effectively remove the device temporarily, allocate a new deviceID and reconfigure/repair … problem is if is associated with scenes/PLEG this is a subsequent issue that needs to be rectified too.
