Hi people , I’m new in Vera’s world and learning how to do this and that .
I find this forum very helpful but unfortunately , by my opinion , vera is sometimes not so intuitive to configure .
This something I’m not able to solve : I have a door sensor (Vision Security ) which is battery operated and not reachable directly from my vera light .
I’m planning to use a routing via two plug devices ( Siren Fortrezz , same room of the sensor and a lamp holder Everspring closer to Vera ) . At the moment the Siren is automatically routing via the Lamp Holder ( this is clearly understandable looking at the neighbor and the automatic route on the advanced tab ) but there is no way to connect the sensor .
I tried to put it out of sleep mode but no way . I tried to put a manual route ( siren is device id 24 and lamp holder is 14) but without success .
I’ve never seen the device id of the sensor as neighbor of siren nor the opposite . I tried to use the "discover neighbor " button on option tab and still no result .
i tried to wait 90 minutes but the sensor was still on waiting to wake up state .
Is the door sensor close enough to the other devices? If yes, I would exclude the door sensor and then include it again, in its installed location. Then when the Vera is returned to its normal location, shift the door sensor into wake up mode and run a heal on the Vera. Keep the door sensor awake until the heal is complete.
This varies from device to device and is usually explained in their respective manuals. For example; I believe that with the Vision Security door sensor, discussed above, leaving the cover off keeps the unit awake(at least for an extended period). An Everspring door sensor requires pressing the tamper switch three times within 2.5 seconds in order to keep it awake for 10 minutes.
