How to locate Vera running UI5 on network

Hello again!

Recently I learned that I could use the url “https://vera-us-oem-authd.mios.com/locator/locator/locator” to locate my vera on my home network.

However, I think this might be only working for vera devices that are running UI7.

I was wondering how you locate the device if you are running older UI Version?

I think it’s
http://local.findvera.com

But if you login in to cp.mios.com when your local it will switch you to the local ip address.
Once you do that keep your IP adress and type that in to go direct.

Do you know of any way to return JSON like the link I mentioned above. unfortunately if I use cp.mios.com to try and return any data using the _detect_unit.php there the older UI’s return a different class of properties then the new UI7.

I am starting to think that I had better recommend that users of my Media Browser Plugin Update to UI7.

Some people apparently are having a hard time leaving UI5.

Although I have never used UI5 myself (I am new to Vera and MiOS) I think it is wise to use any new stable software.

For UI5 its:

http://sta1.mios.com/locator_json.php

Wish I could up-vote your answer @RichardTSchaefer,

Thanks!

So, is there a faster way to getting Firmware results besides requesting one of the two different IP address and then sorting through empty JSON responses, to decide if the user is running UI5 or UI7?

Don’t you just love new guys asking waaay to many questions… ?!?
