How to join a kwikset deadbolt to a vera 2?

I just got a kwikset passcode deadbolt.

How do I join itto my vera 2?

I tried pressing the program button twice but it doesnt help.

Thanks

I have a vera 3, but the process should be similar. I took the vera next to the deadbolt, pressed the zwave button until it flashed, then on the lock I pressed the program button in the upper left quadrant of lock back with the cover off.

Is that what you are trying so far? Have you tried doing it with the Vera plugged into a power outlet right next to the lock?

Tried that, didint work.

My kwikset says on it home connect ready

When I tried to pair my Kwikset locks I was surprised how slow the process was, it took about 60 seconds to fully pair. I didn’t know it was going to take so long so I kept interrupting the process.

Thanks
Where did you buy the lock from and how much did you pay? Is it possible you bought the version without Zwave perhaps (retails about $90)? The regular passcode deadbolt locks are “provisioned” for either Zwave or Zigbee logic boards, but don’t contain one despite saying home connect ready and having the buttons etc!

Does the box say Home Connect on it? what’s the model number? Kwikset sells the deadbolts and door handles either packaged with an RF module (zigbee or z-wave) or one that’s ready… The module slides out right next to the battery unit. Remove the battery unit and look in the void… if you see the module, you’re golden… if not, there will be a plastic blank… another way to check is by pressing the pair button and looking for the red light…

hope this helps…

Crap!
Just bough two of these installed them and can only pair one. After going through the forums I pulled out the module of the one I was having difficulty with only to find our that its says zigbee???

Does that mean I am SOL??? Are the locks identical with the exception of the rf card?

Please help!

Please help!
If it says Zigbee, it won’t work. Z-Wave and Zigbee are different standards.

If it was supposed to be Z-Wave, you should be able to return it for a replacement?

That’s my impression. Which version of Home Connect it is, is encoded in the (full) model number for the set, but it’s subtle (ZW vs ZB or something).
