How to get volume to go back to previous TV level after running a playlist

Hi Guys

I have setup sonos to run a doorbell sound, It runs from a sonos playlist and a doorbell sound i found. It works well but if i am watching tv the volume changes to nearly no sound after the scene is run. Is there a way to set Sonos to go back to previous TV volume?

Cheers

What’s the content of your scene ?

This is what i have set

For informatio, your 3 calls could be replaced by a unique call to PlayURI.

Now, for your current need, I will recommend to use the action “Alert” setting the parameters URI, Volume and Duration. After the duration, your playlist will be stopped and context will be restored to previous context (including volume). But the fact that you are starting the playback of a playlist, meaning a queue replacem?ent, could be a problem when restoring the previous context ? Do you really need to use a playlist rather a simple file ?

I tried setting a file to run off a share on a pc with no success. I searched the forum and tried a few different things. Putting the file on the vera lite would be fine also if you could point me in the right direction

Just include your sound file in your (Sonos) library. Then using the Sonos application, play it. Go back to the plugin, open the Help tab and find the value of AVTransportURI. It should be something starting with x-file-cifs:… Just use this URI in your call to Alert.

Thank you for your help. Will try it like, you said.

Is there a way to have the Duration for the Alert action dynamically vary in time length due to the time length of the file you are playing? I would like to play different sound file announcements that are varied in length and when they are done, return to my playlist or radio program that was previously being played.

No, sorry
