How to get outside temperature?

I notice that my veraedge already has the outside weather because I see it on the top right corner of the UI7 controller page (e.g. dashboard).

What is the best way to get the outside temperature as a trigger (i assume)? Do i really need to install the wunderground plugin and get a key and all that or is there a simpler way?

Weather underground is very easy to setup, free and adds alot more information then just temp. Also allows you to choose where the temp is coming from or taken. One side of town to the other for me can be 5 degrees or more off. Mine is taken from a school 2 blocks away.

ok, NO then.

PLEG inputs are based on a device and the UI is not a device.

thanks… i can’t seem to get the WU app setup… it installs but there doesn’t seem to be any place to enter the key. VeraEdge UI7…

Open the main device “world weather” device from your device list. When you open that you should see Settings and Advanced. Settings is where you put in providor key, and you can put in your coordinates for an over ride if it doesn’t show the closest weather station. You can also change your poll settings to update weather faster.

awesome thank-you… i didn’t see any additional devices yesterday when i first installed it which through me off… today for some reason i see World Weather and others. Looks like i’m all set… thanks again

Great to hear, were you able to find an accurate weather station within a short distance of your location?

yes apparently there are many nearby… i picked the one that is only 440 feet away :smiley:
