How to control Intermatic 3750

Hello, I have this situation I was hoping someone would be able to help me with

  1. I have a pool with a pool heater

  2. a) I have bought an intermatic CA3750 (http://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-CA3750-Multi-Volt-120-277VAC-Contactor/dp/B000YUCES2/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1370238637&sr=1-1&keywords=intermatic+3750) to hook up this pool heater.

  3. I would like to have an outdoor, wall mounted switch to remotely turn this on and off, thus as I see it, this switch would not require to carry a load as all it would do would be record on/off and relay that signal to the intermatic 3750 to turn on.

  4. Can I use this very cheap switch (http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-VP0SR-10Z-Digital-Coordinating-applications/dp/B001HT4M70/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1370238761&sr=1-1&keywords=z-wave+switch), usually used in 3 way situations for this control.

  5. I actually do not need this switch to do anything but record on/off for my vera lite to turn on the ca3750.

  6. if this switch will not work, any others you might suggest.

Thank you!

Collin

No, you could not use that switch as it is not Z-Wave.

What you need is a scene controller. Sticking with Leviton, you would need to use the VRCS1-1LZ. You could also use the less expensive Evolve LTM-5 or any other scene controlling switch.

How to wire CA3750 for 240Volt pool heater

You can control the heater and another 120V or 240V load

What about this one. It’s relatively cheap. Thanks

That should work.
