How to configure a Hikvision camera for Vera Lite

When I’m trying to add my Hikvision DS-2CD2132-I to my Vera Lite manually via the HTTP url (http://<IP_Address>/Streaming/channels/1/picture) the image is to large and cuts off more than half the image.

I’m guessing I don’t have my video/image configuration setup right. Right now my camera is set to the default video/image settings. Can someone help out what they should be?!?!

One thing i tried was to configure the camera for sub-stream and for some reason the URL still displays with a resolution of 1920x1080, which i think is ultimately is my issue.

I had this problem and never got the sub-stream to work, so I ended up adding mine at 1920X1080 using the manual camera add on the wiki:

http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Manually_create_IP_Camera_device

I don’t have any problem pulling up the 1080p image…

URL : /Streaming/channels/1/picture

AWESOME!!! Thank you!!!

Aw crud. Upgraded firmware to V5.1.0 build 131202, and now /Streaming/channels/1/picture no longer works. Has anyone else upgraded firmware on a Raptor (2x) series?

Hello,
I have a couple of new HikVIsion cameras and I cannot get them to work. Have looked at almost every post in the forum related to ONVIF and HikVision.
I have /Streaming/channels/1/picture as the Direct Stream URL and the URL. Using the default 8000 port with the IP address. Still no luck. Any one able to assist.

Thanks,
Roger

What firmware version?

The one I have been trying to set up is V5.1.0 build 131202. Haven’t tried the second camera but it is the same firmware.

Thanks,
Roger

I haven’t been able to find the needed static JPG URL on that firmware. Previous firmware worked fine per my notes above. I think it was an oversight by Hikvision that there isn’t a static page on this version… And the problem is the previous firmware versions didn’t allow you to disable the IR LEDs, which I need…

Has anyone tried rolling back the firmware to 5.0.2 ?

Anyone try to see if 5.0.2 works with the static jpg URL?

It should. I am not 100% sure that was the version I was on that worked fine with Vera, but I think it was.

I need 5.1 or I would have rolled back…

I can confirm that the Chinese version of 5.0.2 works with Veralite again. I’ve flashed the camera with the tftp tool. It took a bit of reading and following the instructions to a tee but it works better than the web maintenance page.
Next I’ll try to flash the Euro version of the firmware to see what I get.

Yup!
Rolled back the firmware on my second unit with Euro firmaware version 5.0.2 and it works now with verlite as well. I’m able to remove the chinese writing on this one. My chinese bought cameras wouldn’t take any other version of firmware. It said language issue or something to that effect when loading american or european firmware. That’s why I used TFTP.
So far so good.
Anyone trying to load a new or older firmware save yourself the trouble and do it with TFTP.

There are instructions here: http://wrightwoodsurveillance.com/forum/thread-73-post-103.html#pid103 on how to change the language. The link at the bottom doesn’t work for me though.

I was able to upgrade one of my cameras to the Chinese 5.1.2 and apply the language fix I posted in the preveous post. The camera now shows an image at http:///Streaming/channels/1/picture. Still can’t get it to show in Vera3. Any suggestions?

Roger

Hello,
I was able to update both my camera’s to the 5.1.2. I can see the image using http:///Streaming/channels/1/picture from a browser. In Vera I get an error that the camera is not responding. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Roge

Whenever we get 5.1.2 in English I will help you out, but not willing to do the language trick. I am at the American Jail Association conference today, and spoke to a dealer that had a Hikvision sign. She had only sold a few so far, so didn’t know a lot about their products…

In case you never found an answer to this - /onvif/snapshot works for me.

Holy crap - that DOES work. Nice find! I can add my two Hikvision cameras back to Vera…
