how to associate Duewi dimmer with wall switch while paired with vera ?

Hello

I have European Duewi dimmer ( 05436) working great and paired with Vera2
I have wall pad switch Duewi (05443) that I’m trying to associate with those
so that manual control is possible

I’m not successful at associating switch and Dimmer when dimmer is
already paired with Vera (and I know this is possible to do it )

What procedure do you recommend ?

I couldn’t find an English manual for the Duwi dimmer (05436), but I’m pretty sure they specify some groups you can use to make associations.
On Vera you can make associations (or groups of devices) by clicking on the little wrench key, go to Device Options and on the bottom you have the Associations section. Just type in the group ID specified in that device’s manual and then click on ‘Set’ to select another device from Vera’s Dashboard to add in that group.

First, you need to add the wall switch to the Z-Wave network. I found the (german) manual to be a bit hard to follow, but I did it by getting Vera into Inclusion mode (use either the button or full power inclusion from the GUI), then press the Associate button on the wall switch and hold it for 2 seconds. After a while, the switch will show up in Vera’s GUI.

Once the switch is part of Vera’s Z-wave network, you can associate it with other devices. I don’t think the Duewi wall switch will let you set associations via the Vera interface, but you can pair them manually. Press the Up button on the wall switch 3 times (the led will blink), then go over to the dimmer and press its Up button 3 times as well. That should pair them.

to be more accurate:

  • press include 2 sec (not associate) + 3 time up button includes the wall switch in the Z wave networks
    you get generic controller logo
  • then 3 time click allows indeed association between switch and dimmer
    Vera GUI reflects nothing that tend to suggest both are associated
