How often do your devices go awol on your network?

A bit of a general question here. I’ve been running a handful of z-wave devices with a veralite over the last 4 years and over that time certain devices have just “fallen” off the network and need re-including. Further investigation on these forums tells me that this has happened with other users too with various devices.
Also some other devices on my work have, at random, become un-configured and i have to re-configure them to get them working again.
All of this does not do wonders for my confidence in the whole system even though i persevere.
I’m sure i’m not the only one here so would be interested to hear others stories of their network issues and their devices losing configuration settings or losing their place on the network.

I have a ZXT-120 that does it all the time. Very annoying and problematic. Other than that one, no issues with devices disappearing. VeraEdge.

I’ve never had this happen. I’ve never had a device lose its configuration. I have had rare - couple of years since the last - device lockups, requiring that it be power cycled to restore service.

I do have some fringe devices that will many times fail to poll, but they respond to commands just fine, so I don’t worry about it. The home automation always works. At worst, when “acting up”, those fringe devices take a couple of seconds to react. This is entirely a range/mesh issue.

I have not had my z-wave devices lost its configuration or have to reset for 2 years. One of my locks used to lose its z-wave connection to the controller for a few seconds and re-connect immediately after that. After putting another z-wave device in the middle, I never get that problem agian.

I have had some Intermatic z-wave outlets do this, and I recently eliminated them from my network and replaced with GE/Jasco. The nightly heal shortened nearly 45 minutes, so I know the decision to replace them was a good one…

My Inermatic wall switches were pretty reliable under UI15, but are constantly dropping out on UI17.

I haven’t, but I have some devices quit working from time to time. A heal fixed that, but messed up some others! ::slight_smile:
