I’ve looking for reasonable priced z-wave w/d sensors and most i found are 35+ each. Recently I just found the GoControl home security kit (in HomeDepot & Amazon) that has 2 w/d sensors and 1 motion sensor fir only $50. from other posts in this forum and review in HD & Amazon, it sounds like the motion sensor is not that great. what about the w/d sensors? for that price it souds like < 25 per piece whihc is a good deal. Anyone has first-hand experience with it can share your thoughts?
Don’t. I’ve got the premium kit that I’m returning tonight. I did get the motion sensor working, although it was not as reliable as my Ecolink ones, but I never got the door sensors to work right. They kept being detected as motion sensors or were always tripped. Tried all the tricks I could find on the forum here, but didn’t help. Never got to the siren, gave up first
Felt the urge to offer my comments on these sensors for anyone who reads this thread so they don’t get the wrong idea about this pretty great kit and for everything you get under $99 I thought it was a reasonably priced option to start out with.
I purchased one of these kits a few months ago and have had zero problems with any of it, all the sensors connected and included with my Vera Edge unit running the latest UI7 version (cannot say if older versions of the UI could have been causing the problems mentioned above).
The door sensors and the motion sensor all included correctly, detected accurately when tripped and not tripped etc. and have been working just great and continue to do so.
I am very happy with the kit and am planning on purchasing more in a few days time, I saw they had an add-on kit GOCONTROL WNK01-21KIT which comes with a motion sensor and two door/window sensors for only $49.
The door/window sensors are also fairly small and thin and fit nicely on various doors around my home.
The only complaint I have is that the motion sensor does not come with a corner mounting bracket like some other sensors I have did, so I was not able to mount the sensor in the corner of a room out of the box and had to place it flat on the wall.
Other than that they work great.
I am however planning on upgrading a few of my sensors in parts of the house to be multi sensors just for the extra features.
I have a set on my vera3. They all work fine. I use the temp device plug in to capture the motion sensor temp. They are just like the no-name sensors from monoprice.
