I got my Vera 3 and a bunch of stuff today. I installed my VistaCam PT camera, it works wirelessly and shows a decent image. However, it was said it has “Built-in microphone and speaker provide two-way audio function”.
How do I get the audio from the microphone, and how do I send audio to it’s speakers?
Thank you!
P.S. Does anyone know how to stop the white light blinking in front of the camera? It is soooo annoying?
Sound (microphone and speaker) for VistaCam PT (Case #517)
I observed:
I see an Audio plug on the back of my VistaCam PT, and one side has holes as for a microphone or speaker; however, I don’t find any information or find any setting for how to enable the sound as part of the video. Is this possible? If so, how do I get it working?
I have a new Vera3 and VistaCam PT. The VistaCam PT is working wirelessly.

Hi,
You will need to connect directly to your camera using Internet Explorer. Also you will need to enable ActiveX from Internet Explorer. In order to do that you will need to go to “Tools”>“Internet Options”>“Security” tab and then click on “Custom level” and enable all the actions for “ActiveX”. Then the “Audio” and “Voice” controls should be in the top right corner.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

My further question is:
We don’t have any Windows machines in the house. Is there an option to enable the audio for the VistaCam PT on Macintosh machines running Safari, Firefox, or Opera?

Hi Tom,
Unfortunately “Audio” and “Voice” controls require ActiveX which works on Internet Explorer.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Dennis… anyway to use two way audio from within U15 and/or 3rd party apps like AutHomation?
3rd party aps from the iOS and google play store will support your camera with audio.
I don’t know of any vera apps that handle audio and video.
To be clear… 3rd party IP camera app (that support your cam) will work with audio…
My last post may have indicated that 3rd party vera apps would work… And as mentioned my Garrett, they don’t
