How do I add these to the Vera Lite using the RFXtrx plug-in? Could someone please explain VERY concrete and clear? Do I need a remote? If I “hear” a device in the plug-in, could I copy that string and add a dvice with that information?
If these devices are supported by the RFXtrx (they might use the AC protocol and so be compatible), the easiest way is to simply use your remote to send an ON order. Then the plugin will create automatically the device.
As lolodomo writes it is easiest if you have a remote, just press the button that you used to “learn” the switch you want to have in your Vera. The switch and the remote will automatically be created.
But if you do not have a remote or want to use codes that your remote do not have you can add the device manually. Just press the wrench on your “RFXtrx controller device” and add the device from there. The difficult part is to know what type of switch you have. When I use my Nexa remote I learned that with default settings in the plugin it recognizes the Nexa remote as a “X10” device. Hence if you want to add a Nexa switch manually without a remote you fill in the codes (random or your own choice) and press “X10 Switch”. The switch is then added to your devices. Finally your need to “learn” your physical device by pressing the learn button and then “On” on your Vera.
Just thought I should replay and write that the Nexa LWMR-210 dimmer receivers can be added manually by choosing “AC Dimmer” and a Remote ID of ~260 (converted to hex with http://easycalculation.com/decimal-converter.php) and Unit code 1. Other settings could probably be used, but these worked for me (adding 2 to the Remote ID for each dimmer added, i.e. 264, 266, 268 etc.).
I have still not found a way to add the Nexa plugin switches (PER-1500). The settings above do not work.
