Hi,
I’m also looking forward to test this. I have yamaha RX-V773.
Hello,
I’m writing a plugin to control the Yamaha RX-A1000 receiver over IP. Unlike the Onkyo and Denon receivers which already have plugins and basically open an IO port and read / write serial commands, the Yamaha receivers use an HTTP POST request containing a body of XML data. And here in lies the problem - unlike the standard IO methods where the Action sends the request and Incoming handles the response, the request and resp…
I have a RX-A3010 myself and would love to integrate it into my z-wave network. I hope your studies work out ![]()
I’d love to test out this plugin as well whenever you have it available, and thank you for even thinking of doing this. I have a RX-A720 and I’ve never gotten Vera to talk successfully to it over the SQ blaster.
All I’m trying to do is turn on my RX-A2010. Not going so well, so far ???
However, I am able to send commands to a Panasonic BD player and a Dune HD MAX unit via luup.
Everything in my theater is controlled through DemopadHD on an iPad, but I decided that I wanted everything to power on when a particular pin code was entered into the Kwikset lock. Which means I need Vera to do it without any help.
Have yet to start tackling the code in Vera for the JVC projector; works fine through the pad though.
Due to the number of recent requests, I’ve released a plugin using the Yamaha Network Control Alias - see the following post:

Having read this thread, I thought I would have a look at the HTTP approach:

Hi there,
I’m digging out this old thread to get some detail information about what you did here. I’m developing my own Yamaha remote control using a web client and Node.js. Works out pretty well. One last piece is missing: events. I cannot get my Receiver (RX-V775) or BD-Player (BD-A1010) to send any events, or at least I don’t know how to listen.
In June 2012 you wrote:
Sounds like you found a solution. What exactly does your program do? What is that command, that turns on event notification?
Is it a XML command like the ones for controlling the device? Is it something to send through the UDP channel, where all the network devices say hi to each other?
I found out that I need to listen to 239.255.255.250:1900 via UDP and i can see messages from both the Reveiver and the BD-Player. But there no XML in the message bodies (there are no bodies at all) telling me what kind of event was happening. I also know there is a path /YamahaRemoteControl/event on the device, but I don’t know what to do with it.
Any help is appreciated. ![]()
