Hooking up everspring sp103

Hi,

I hooked up the sp103 sensor.
Works fine…
I did this because i want to use it as a repeater but does it ?
How do i know that it does ?

Thx.
Lode

battery-powered zwave devices do not act as repeaters (to save battery)

Hi,

That’s correct but why does the HSM100 can act as a repeater when it’s hooked up by a power supply.
That’s what i’ve been reading, not sure about it.

Thx.

There is a configurable bit to tell it to never go to sleep; it will then also present itself as a device that participates in repeating (after re-inclusion).

Hello,

I had a HSM100 but to much troubles with it.
The sp103 has a parameter where you can disable the power saving function
I can see that everytime there is motion ( even in a couple of seconds) the sensor is tripped so i’m sure it doesn’t go to sleepmodus.
But that doesn’t say it will act as a repeater, does it ?
How can i find out it does, isn’t there a way you can see wich route your devices following ?

Thx.
Lode

Correct. Try re-including the sensor and see if the first byte of the [tt]Capabilities[/tt] string changes.

oTi@,

Thx for your replies.
The capabilitiesstring is as follows :

81,140,0,4,32,1,R,RS,|48,112,114,128,132:1,133,134,

So i have to watch if 81 changes into another value, correct ?

Thx,
Lode

Correct; it would change to 209.

oTi@,

Today excluded the sensor and included it again.
Sensor works fine but the capabilitiesstring hasn’t been changed.
First byte is still 81 so it does not act as a repeater i guess :-\

Lode.

Thanks for the report. After you included again, was the power-saving parameter still set, or did it get reset?

It was reset to power saving mode but i changed that parameter already to disable power saving,
As i told before the sensor works fine but … :-[
