Honeywell "forgets" time of day on power outage.

Hi,

I have two new TH8320ZW1000 thermostats. These are NOT the ones sold on this forum.

My issues is both forget the time of day when there is a power interruption. I’ve changed the battery, installing a fresh high quality battery. No difference.

After a power interruption I am presented with two screens similar to the initial configuration screens. They are asking for the “Year, month day”, then a “set time” screen. Both require pressing the “done” button to continue.

Has anyone seen this issue?

Thanks
John

from the manual:- Thermostat shows the calendar screen (year, date, & month) when the power is restored
? This indicates that the coin cell battery has drained out. Replace the coin cell battery immediately.

i would try cleaning battery contacts if that fails these thermostats have a 5 year warranty contact honeywell

Thanks ELCid. I had just installed a new battery but Ill try the contacts again.

If they were purchased new, did you remove the plastic tab that allows the batteries to make connection to hold the settings through a power outage?

Yes the battery saver tab came out 1st thing. Besides it would have fallen out when I put in the fresh battery. Thanks for the thought though.

BTW I did another test last night. I set the date and clock, removed the battery completely. Cycled furnace power. On repower the screen asked for data time etc. Exactly the same as if the battery were installed.

My final conclusion: The unit is faulty.

What does changing the setting for function 0530 do?

Function 530 is Adaptive Intelligent Recovery.

This is Honeywell’s name for the ability to start a temperature change early so to have the temperature setting attained at the time the user programs it.

For Instance:
a nighttime temperature is set for 64 ?F.
The morning temperature is set for 68 ?F @ 7:00 AM.

With Adaptive Intelligent Recovery, the thermostat will start increasing the temperature before 7:00 AM so room is at 68?F at 7:00 AM.

It has nothing to do with power recovery.

Good info. I knew what it was called, but the docs don’t explain it (or I just completely missed it).

Hello -

I am curious if there is a way to export the data from my classic 150 directly to my own website in real-time?
