Hey intveltr, have you considered registering a URL scheme for HomeWave, so that other apps can launch HomeWave to a specific page? (I’m specifically thinking of Prowl, which has the ability to launch a third-party app when you receive a push notification.)
I see what you mean. I’ve never used that feature in Prowl, but I can think of a few instances in which I would.
Is it possible for Homewave to open another ios app using that app’s URL (for example: spotify://user//playlist/ ) as a button action ? (i realize this is the inverse of the OP’s question, but it is sort of related
)
I would like this option as well. I use prowl and would like to have it open Homewave when I swipe alert.
The upcoming version (1.50) will have a basic URL scheme:
homewave:// to open HomeWave
homewave://open/ScreenName to open HomeWave to the screen with title ScreenName
Cool! This will be useful.
Thank you for the update, I love it. Now when I get a Prowl alert, I swipe it and it takes me to my app to see the status and take action right away.
Is the update out? I’m still on v1.43 & don’t see an update in the Apple Store.
The update went to the app store today and will be available soon
Got it! Works great with Prowl.
I’m now putting homewave:// in emails or calendar events to link over to HomeWave easily.
Thank you, it works great.

Intveltr - Being able to directly access Homewave thru other apps is great, but did you also add the ability in Homewave to link to other ios apps through a button command using same URL schema? i.e. - I would like to connect to Roomie from Homewave to control A/V and my UPB lighting which cannot be controlled by Vera at this time.
Thanks for your feedback
Currently there’s no way to add buttons to open custom URLs, but this could be added at some point

+1 for this feature ![]()

Coming in the next release
inveltr,
Will this include a capability to open the other app in homewave, or return to homewave? It’s a bit of a newer feature I’ve seen that I know some apps take advantage of. The example I’ll give you, is Feedly. I open feeds in Feedly, start reading, if I click a link it will open in Chrome, and I can choose to go back to feedly when done. Would be great to allow HomeWave to be the central app for home control. For things where maybe I’ve got a DISH app to control my DISH, I can link it in Homewave, then return to HomeWave when I’m done controlling the channels/volume, etc.
Hi!
How can i “calling” from Vera scene this url : homewave://open/ScreenName ?
I’d like to if i open the front door or garage door or other door, then “jump” to a my “Door” page in Homewave from Vera scene or other option?
These URLs cannot be called from Vera scenes. However the next release will allow Push notifications to include a screen, so that screen is opened when you click on the push message.
Inveltr!
Thank’s but the pusch is not my way (i useing vera pusching messages via google pusch)
I thinked only automatic call the page from the vera scene, or somewhere if etc. the switch on or door open…
